I have several Smart mailboxes set up on my Mac.
Some of them hold all mail for years and others delete after about a month.
All settings are the same on all mailboxes.

I have only 1 E-mail account, It is a POP and the one earlier account that I set up that works fine and saves all E-mails comes form a friend who also runs Apple.  Don't know if that has anything to do with it.
All others are running Bill Gates stuff.
Even when I delete the "Friend Apple" E-mails his messages stay in the smart mailbox.
I deleted the other E-mails as I usually claen out once a week and get rid of junk and adds.  I deleted the other smart mailbox E-mails from my main mailbox figuring that they would stay in the smart box like the other one.
Still perplexed,
